Delivery Requirements

Please read these requirements before placing your order. Placing an order and checking the delivery acknowledgment box means you agree to the terms below. Questions? Call us at 401-639-1623.

Site access

Our delivery trucks need approximately 10 feet of width, 12 feet of overhead clearance (watch for low branches, wires, and eaves), and a firm, reasonably level surface to reach your dump location. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery area and the route to it are clear and accessible on your scheduled delivery date. If you are unsure whether our truck can reach your site, contact us before ordering — send a photo or call 401-639-1623.

Septic systems and underground utilities

A loaded delivery truck is heavy enough to damage septic system components (tanks, leach fields, distribution boxes), wells, irrigation lines, drainage, and other underground utilities that may not be visible from the surface. If your property has a septic system or other buried components along the delivery route or at the dump location, it is your responsibility to know their location, to clearly mark or flag them, and to direct the truck's path away from them.

GravelRI assumes no liability for damage to septic systems, wells, utilities, or other property that were not identified and marked before delivery.

Dump location and property surfaces

We dump where you direct us on your property — driveway, side yard, or backyard — provided the area is safely accessible. You are responsible for identifying a suitable location and for any wear to driveways, lawns, or other surfaces that results from normal truck access to the location you designate. Note any tight turns, soft ground, or overhead obstructions when you order.

Someone must be reachable

You do not need to be physically present, but someone must be reachable by phone during the delivery window in case our driver has questions about access or the dump location. If we cannot safely complete the delivery due to inaccessible conditions or an inability to confirm placement, additional trip or rescheduling charges may apply.

Delivery windows and scheduling

Delivery dates are requested at checkout and confirmed by our team. Most orders are delivered within 2–5 business days depending on location and schedule. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by weather, road conditions, and circumstances beyond our control.

Orders, quantities, and payment

Our minimum order is 10 cubic yards. Material quantities are estimates based on the dimensions or volume you provide; actual coverage varies with compaction, grade, and site conditions. Payment is due before delivery. Prices and fees shown at checkout include material and delivery for your location.

Service area

We deliver within Rhode Island only. We do not deliver to Massachusetts, Connecticut, or other states at this time.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Cancellation before dispatch. You may cancel or modify your order at no charge any time before your delivery is dispatched. To cancel, contact us at 401-639-1623 or orders@gravelri.com with your order number. Orders canceled before dispatch receive a full refund to the original payment method.

2. Cancellation after dispatch / same-day. Once a truck has been loaded or dispatched for your delivery, cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee of $75 or 15% of the order total, whichever is greater, to cover loading, fuel, and scheduling costs. The remainder of your payment will be refunded.

3. Failed delivery due to site conditions. If our driver arrives and cannot safely complete delivery because site access requirements were not met (see Site Access, above) — including obstructed access, unmarked drop zones, unsafe ground conditions, or no authorized person present where required — the delivery will be rescheduled and a redelivery fee of $75 or 15% of the order total, whichever is greater, applies. If you choose to cancel instead of rescheduling, the after-dispatch cancellation fee in Section 2 applies.

4. No returns after delivery. Bulk aggregate materials cannot be restocked once discharged. All sales are final upon delivery of material to your site. Refunds are not available for unused material, overestimated quantities, or change of mind after the material has been dumped. We encourage you to verify quantities using our calculator or by contacting us before ordering.

5. Incorrect or non-conforming material. If you believe you received the wrong product or materially non-conforming material, notify us within 48 hours of delivery and before the material is spread, moved, or used. Upon verification, we will, at our option, replace the material or issue a refund for the non-conforming portion, including removal at our expense. Claims made after material has been spread or incorporated cannot be verified and are not eligible.

6. Weather and delays caused by us. We may reschedule deliveries due to weather, road restrictions, or equipment availability. If we reschedule, you may accept the new date or cancel for a full refund with no fee. If we cancel an order entirely, you receive a full refund.

7. Refund processing. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. We do not issue cash refunds for card payments.

8. Your statutory rights. Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under Rhode Island law, including the Rhode Island Deceptive Trade Practices Act (R.I. Gen. Laws § 6-13.1).

These requirements may be updated from time to time. The version in effect when you place your order applies to that order.
